It took us a little while to assemble our ideal squad, but we finally managed to get our first week's worth of raids under our belts with the bare minimum of fuss! We tucked in our shirts, slicked back our collective mullets and set about dismantling the Lich King's playroom.
The 30% buff made a hell of a difference, which allowed us to let certain raid members tag along wearing nothing but last season's tattered rags and deliciously fashionable slip-on shoes!
We broke Marrowgar's bones on normal mode to gauge our potential, then we switched to heroic and quickly dispatched Deathwhisper and the world-famous Lootship. We switched back to normal for Saurfang and his ugly pets, then back to heroic again in order to hoover up the Plague Babies' shiny epics. To keep things fluid, we killed the Professor on normal after a couple of silly wipes, and proceeded to mop up the Blood Wing in no time at all (Blood Princes on normal; Queen Pointywings on heroic). We tried to heal the dragon on heroic, and were completely swamped by the adds, so decided to top her up on normal as the raid was nearly at an end.
For a change of scenery, we paid our first visit to the Ruby Sanctum a few days later and had a great time wiping on the non-facerollable trash! The three mini-bosses were easy enough to handle, but Halion proved to be quite a handful for us until we sent our third spare healer into the portal to help with the massive raid damage. After a number of progression attempts, we downed the beast and pillaged its epics, before moving onto the Obsidian Sanctum for a 3 drake zerg just for the hell of it!

After a short respite, we went back into ICC10 and were collectively turned into ice-cubes by Sindragosa thanks to some pro internet disconnections. She is still a pain in the ass even on normal mode, and even had the cheek to ping one of our tanks across the platform with her tail when he was trying to get her attention during phase 2! I'm happy to announce that we did get there in the end, thus setting up the final encounter with Mr Scary Tin Can Head himself (on normal mode, of course).
We shook up the first phase positioning a bit prior to our first attempt, and managed to push him well into the Valkyr phase before a sneaky Defile caught us off-guard and covered us with shadowy death. Our next attempt was a complete success, with excellent movement and positioning from all raid members, and we kicked his metal ass and scored four shiny new Kingslayer titles for the raid. Job done!
