Bane of the Fallen King

Bane of the Fallen King? More like Bane of the Fail Random Number Generator!

For a few months now, this illustrious title has eluded us. Plagued by raid composition issues, we finally managed to make good progress and stabilized phase 1 a few weeks ago. Having two frenzied shamblers up at the same time is definitely a recipe for soiled undergarments, but our paladin midget did a sterling job of clinging onto his last slivers of health while the necrotic plague did its work. Arthas loves to wind raids up, and our experiences of him in heroic mode were no exception! Melee-only Shadow Traps and vanishing plague stacks were but a few of our trials and tribulations, but we got our heads down and consistently pushed him to the first transition.

We found phase 2 to be slightly more agreeable, although we did suffer a few lag-outs during Defiles, which was nice. The valkyrs did their best to select the raid members closest to the edge, bless them. We nailed this phase reasonably quickly, and swiftly popped heroism to dispatch as many of the Raging Spirits as possible before the start of the next phase..

The Lich King's final phase gave us the most trouble for a long time. He clobbered us with bombs in Frostmourne's chamber, he nuked us with Vile Spirits and, if that wasn't enough, tried his best to engulf us with the most annoying Defiles ever invented. After we nailed our movement inside Frostmourne, we focused on our movement and positioning to make sure our off-tank soaked as many of the remaining Vile Spirits as possible. Cooldowns a-plenty!

Our victorious attempt saw our main tank gibbed at the 15% mark, so all he could do for the remaining 5% was chew on his knuckles and offer calming advice on voice comms. Those still alive gave it their all, until the Lich King's hand was forced and Frostmourne's Fury wiped us out.

Gratz all!
